IMMER ESSEN FARM

in rural east tennessee

With admiration for all things squat and pleasant

Here at Immer Essen Farm, there are a few people and a great many animals. Although we often find ourselves will we or nil we in company with somewhat hysterical people, we prefer associating with non-human animals of sturdy, calm character, and so have found great satisfaction in the company of Haflinger horses and Pembroke Welsh Corgwyn.  All our our cats have now been spayed or neutered and can be seen romping about in various locations.  We haven't been able to do without a little group of geese and ducks and also find frizzled cochin bantam chickens entertaining - in fact, if you watch them, most chickens are characters. We are really enjoying the little Polish bantams and have really nice frizzled ones of them, too.  Donkeys are just as glum in general as the classic Eeyore, and we have enjoyed sharing the property with them for years (eating all the thistles and many of the weeds is good, too!)  Now we've finally gotten some Mammoth donkeys and are really getting to know them.  While taller than our Haflingers, they are very quiet and non-threatening equines.  We are now also enjoying our Lagotto Romagnoli and are looking forward to having them find many truffles for us.
