Our Curly Lambkin Kittens!

The Lambkins are a new project here, and we are very happy with the results.  The Lambkins are staying small and have very gentle, sweet, friendly natures. We are utilizing the fairly new Rex gene that has gone into the Selkirk Rex cats, which results in a curly, sheeplike coat and crossing to broader-bodied Munchkins.  The Selkirk Rex cats are bred from Persian, Exotic Shorthair, and British Shorthair cats - mostly Persians have been used in their breeding program, which has resulted in a curly Persian type cat.  While of necessity, we must start with the Selkirk Rex cats, because that's where the Rex gene can be found, our goal is not to produce short-legged Selkirk Rex cats but to produce short-legged cats with curly coats and attractive, rounded but not flat faces.  We call these curly little cats Lambkins, as they are like wooly little Munchkins. All of these kittens are as sweet as can be and have great purr motors.

Please take the time to review our information below before inquiring about kitten availability or policies.

Our kittens must usually be 12 weeks old before they leave us. **All kittens must be neutered or spayed before they go to their new homes (females are an additional $75 for spaying - prices for boys include neutering). You can choose to leave an escrow deposit of $500 pending neutering certificate if you want to wait until the kitten is older.  Our Munchkin kittens are available for pets only, but adult Munchkins are sometimes available to breeding homes upon approval. If you think you would like to breed Munchkins, please click here for possibly helpful information.

Our preferred method of parting with a kitten is for the new owner to pick it up here. We are located midway between Knoxville and Chattanooga in Tennessee. If you contact us about getting a Munchkin, please be sure to let us know where you are located and how you would be effecting delivery of the kitten.

If you need a Munchkin to be shipped, our charges are $100 for carrier, vet certificate, travel (rabies shots, if required, are about $15 more) - you can contact the airline directly to find out if delivery to you is practical (from TYS - Knoxville, TN) and to get the costs for the air flight - via Northwest (800) 692-2746 or Delta (888) 736-3738 or Comair (877) 528-4961.  (The kittens are sent in a small carrier and the total weight is under 15 pounds.) You can then later book and pay for the flight directly after arrangements are made. If temperatures are inclement, your kitten may need to arrive at an inconvenient hour in order to arrive safely.

You can click here to send us a message - but, again, inquiries that do not include an introduction will not receive a reply.

Many people want to correspond by telephone. We are on a working farm and always seem to have a chore that needs doing, which doesn't make for relaxed chats, and, frankly, I am uncomfortable talking to strangers on the phone (all right, maybe this is a personality problem - but it's MY personality problem and perhaps you have some of your own?)  After we have answered your questions by email and arrived at a decision point, we can provide the phone number and a time to call. Thanks!

We update our younger kitten pictures weekly, but we are only updating the older ones at the beginning of the month, as all they want to do is play and it is very hard to get a clear photo of a kitten which is intent on playing.  We generally notate which kittens are promised within 24 hours, so if a kitten appears to be available, the chances are good that it still is.
